Anderson .Paak was the featured musical guest on Monday’s episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden where he and his small backing band delivered a virtual performance of “Lockdown”, a new Black Lives Matter-inspired track shared by the talented drummer/singer back in June.

For his appearance on the late-night program, Paak led the group through the song from behind his smaller, more simplified drum kit. Although the performance was very much an at-home one, that didn’t stop the musicians from utilizing the fade in/fade out household lighting abilities in the room to remind viewers how fun visual show production used to be when combined with the right music.

The song’s connection to the Black Lives Matter movement was also evident in the performance, as a jersey depicting the name of George Floyd was laid out atop the piano next to Paak.
