Anderson .Paak has announced he will release a new album, Ventura, on April 12th via Aftermath. Ventura is the follow-up to last fall’s Oxnard, and was recorded around the same time as that album, according to a press release.
.Paak hinted at his fruitful time in the studio with Dr. Dre during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last week, noting that the pair had produced “two albums worth” of new music during the Oxnard sessions. He ended that interview by summing up his next moves: “Lots of soul, a bigger tour, and the best teeth in the game.”
Along with the album announcement, Anderson .Paak made good on all his Tonight Show promises by revealing plans for an extensive new tour of amphitheaters, arenas, and more across the continent with his band, The Free Nationals. The tour is appriately dubbed the Best Teef In the Game Tour. .Paak will be joined by special guest Thundercat throughout the entirety of the tour, as well as Mac DeMarco, Earl Sweatshirt, Noname, and Jessie Reyez on select dates.
Anderson .Paak and & The Free Nationals will open up their extensive tour with a performance at Nashville, TN’s Ascend Amphitheater on May 17th, followed by stops at Cleveland, OH’s Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica (5/20); Philadelphia, PA’s The Met (5/21); Uncasville, CT’s Mohegan Sun Arena (5/23); Westbrook, ME’s The Pavilion at Rock Row (5/26); Baltimore, MD’s MECU Pavilion (5/28); New York City’s Madison Square Garden (5/30); Toronto’ ON’s RBC Echo Beach (6/1); Detroit, MI’s Meadow Brook Amphitheatre (6/2), Chicago, IL’s Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island (6/4); Raleigh, NC’s Red Hat Amphitheater (6/6); and Atlanta, GA’s State Bank Amphitheater at Chastain Park on June 7th.
The band will then head west with a performance at New Orleans, LA’s Bold Sphere Music at Champions Square on June 8th, followed by stops at Houston, TX’s Revention Music Center (6/11); Dallas, TX’s Toyota Music Factor (6/12); Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (6/14); Las Vegas, NV’s The Pearl (6/16); Vancouver, BC’s PNE Forum (6/19); Seattle, WA’s Wamu Theater at Centurylink Field (6/20); Portland, OR’s McMenamins Edgefield (6/22); and a tour-closing performance at San Francisco, CA’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on June 27th.
