Nu Deco Ensemble is back with their final concert of the spring season. On Saturday, May 15, they are hosting a livestream featuring keyboard master Cory Henry (Snarky Puppy) from the North Beach Bandshell in Miami. The first set will showcase symphonic interpretations of the music of Dr. Dre, and close with a special collaboration with New Orleans funk band, Tank & the Bangas.

The Nu Deco Ensemble has a history of synthesizing popular music with complex jazz-funk stylings, attracting listeners of all varieties. Over the last few months, the 30-piece outfit has dished out orchestral covers of Outkast, Daft Punk, Bill Withers, and more. They have also collaborated with lead-rhythm guitarist, Cory Wong, and jazz-fusion multi-instrumentalist Richard Bona.

Outside of May’s livestream with Nu Deco Ensemble, Henry has been keeping busy throughout the pandemic. He released a Christmas album, Christmas With You back in December 2020, and another solo album Something To Say only a few months earlier. When live music is in full action, you can catch him touring with his band The Funk Apostles for gospel-inspired funk music, which has made appearances at festivals such as LOCKN, Telluride Jazz Festival, and Brooklyn Comes Alive.
