Snarky Puppy have announced that they will be hitting the road for a U.S. tour in 2018 ahead of recording a new album! Before the three-time Grammy Award-winning group heads out on the official tour, they will play Carnegie Hall on January 25th in New York City, a show billed as “Snarky Puppy with David Crosby and friends.” After that, the band will host the 2nd annual GroundUP Music Festival in Miami Beach, FL February 9-11, 2018. The festival will feature a special set from Snarky each day along with performances from an eclectic list of international superstars including: The Wood Brothers; The Flecktones Trio feat. Béla Fleck, Victor Wooten and Futureman; Robert Glasper; Lionel Loueke; Joshua Redman; Buena Vista Social Club great Eliades Ochoa and many others. From there, the official U.S. tour kicks off with a two-night run at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA, and ends with a four-night run at SFJAZZ in San Francisco, CA. For a select number of dates, Snarky Puppy will be joined by Alina Engibaryan, Sirintip, and Banda Magda for support slots. This tour will all take place “leading up to [Snarky Puppy’s] next album recording,” according to the band’s Facebook post. Tickets for Snarky Puppy’s U.S. tour go on-sale this Friday here.

GroundUP Music Festival Announces Snarky Puppy, Béla Fleck, Victor Wooten, Robert Glasper & More

Snarky Puppy is nearing the end of their most successful year yet, capping off 2017 with a South American tour that will land them in five continents this year. With plenty to celebrate, the band’s highlights this year include their headlining set at Newport Jazz Festival, playing with the L.A. Philharmonic at Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles, playing with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC and a sold-out show at the 5,000 capacity Brixton O2 Academy in London. Needless to say, we’re excited to have Snarky Puppy back on U.S. soil for an extended period of time as their creative juices will inevitably flow through the veins of American live music.

Recently, Snarky Puppy won their third straight Downbeat Readers Poll Jazz Band Award, following their third Grammy Award for their album Culcha Vulcha. Following their 2018 tour dates, which you can see the initial phase of below, the band will begin recording their next album.
