We’ve been excited about the upcoming David Byrne/Talking Heads musical tribute at Carnegie Hall for some time now, considering the annual Michael Dorf-organized charity event has been quite the impressive musical performance in years past. Having honored such luminaries as The Who, Paul Simon and Elton John, a musical revue of the Talking Heads should be very fun.

The event, which usually boasts a lineup of roughly 20 artists, previously revealed an initial lineup that included O.A.R., The Roots, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), and more. Now, it seems that Brooklyn jazz/funk ensemble Antibalas has been tapped to perform as the house band for the event. Antibalas was on hand for last year’s tribute to Paul Simon, and all accounts indicate that this talented group delivered an outstanding show.

The current lineup includes The Roots, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, Rufus Wainwright, Steve Earle, O.A.R., Perry Farrell, Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells, Beth Orton, Bebel Gilberto and Forro In The Dark. The concert is set for March 23rd, and more information can be found via the Carnegie Hall website.
