Aqueous on Wednesday gave fans a quick update on the current state of the band, announcing that it will not tour regularly for the remainder of 2022. The Buffalo quartet will take the rest of the year off so guitarist/keyboardist Dave Loss can spend time with the baby he and his wife are expecting.

In a lengthy post to the group’s social media, Aqueous addressed its prolonged absence by writing “The great news is we’re **not breaking up**”.

“Instead, we’re proud to announce that Dave and his wife are welcoming a baby into the world! In honor of this, he’s requested to take off the rest of 22’ to be as present in that experience as he can, and we think that’s beautiful,” the statement read. “The pandemic taught us many things, but the biggest thing we learned is balance in life is crucial, so we’ve taken an entirely different approach to prioritize that within the culture of our band these days.”

During this self-imposed downtime, Aqueous will keep busy. The band noted that “we’ve got some tricks up our sleeves that we’re working on in the meantime (new album, anyone?)” as the group plans for 2023. Additionally, the quartet will keep up on nugs and Bandcamp releases and revamp its merch store and website, plus “bringing in a few new key players to the team, new music and collabs alongside some good old fashioned two-set AQ SHOWS!”

Aqueous has also asked fans to comment what cities and festivals they want the band to play at next year. Finally, the group hinted at “something truly awesome” it will announce next week, “an epic last hurrah for 22’ if you will.”

“We appreciate the love, support and patience we’ve received from y’all, and our commitment now rests between honoring and caring for ourselves and crushing for you guys in every way we can,” the band concluded.

Dear AQ fans:
Many of you have noticed that we haven’t announced a fall tour, that our website hasn’t been updated, etc. The great news is we’re **not breaking up**
Instead, we’re proud to announce that Dave and his wife are welcoming a baby into the world! In honor of this, he’s requested to take off the rest of 22’ to be as present in that experience as he can, and we think that’s beautiful. The pandemic taught us many things, but the biggest thing we learned is balance in life is crucial, so we’ve taken an entirely different approach to prioritize that within the culture of our band these days

If you’ve seen or heard us in the last year or so, the joy and freedom in this realization is palpable in our dynamic onstage and off- we’re happier, sillier, and more inspired than ever. Much of this has been from touring a bit less in conjunction with REALLY embracing and trusting in who we are as a band, and it feels amazing to get back to our musical and personal roots! Listen to a recent show if you haven’t checked in with us in awhile, we think you’ll hear what we’re talking about

That said, we’ve got some tricks up our sleeves that we’re working on in the meantime (new album, anyone?) and we’re plotting out plans for a great 2023. We’ll be getting back to streamlining everything from consistent nugs and bandcamp drops to a revamped online merch store, a new website, bringing in a few new key players to the team, new music and collabs alongside some good old fashioned two-set AQ SHOWS!

So we ask: Where do you NEED to see us play?? What cities, festivals, etc come to mind? Drop a comment and we’ll consider every single thing we hear back from y’all as we make our plans for next year. Given that we’ll still be touring more selectively, it’s more important than ever that you get your butt to the shows next year if we come to your town!

We appreciate the love, support and patience we’ve received from y’all, and our commitment now rests between honoring and caring for ourselves and crushing for you guys in every way we can.

Finally, we’re also excited to mention that we’re announcing something truly awesome next week that’ll happen before the summer is over that we’ve always wanted to do… an epic last hurrah for 22’ if you will.

With love and excitement:
Mike, Evan, Rob and Dave
