Aqueous has issued a new official live release, Live From Kalamazoo, available now on all major streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify. The album was recorded on November 17th, 2017 during the band’s performance at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo, MI. The show has been available to nugs.net subscribers since then, but due to its overwhelming popularity on the streaming platform geared largely towards established live music fanatics, the band has decided to release it as an official live album for the masses to enjoy.
“There are certain shows on any given tour that really stand out,” explains guitarist/vocalist Mike Gantzer in a statement. “Maybe we were sleep-deprived, maybe it was a full moon – whatever it was, the Kalamazoo, MI show last November had that MAGIC. … The band just clicked for both sets, and the improv sections all went way out there but stayed in a deep, danceable pocket all night.”
From the effortless improvisation to the potent grooves to the barrage of eclectic “teasers” of favorites by Collective Soul, The Eagles, The Grateful Dead, John Mayer, Dr. Dre, and more worked seamlessly into the set, Live From Michigan showcases a stellar band at the top of their game.
