The Disco Biscuits keyboardist Aron Magner helped reopen Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox in Denver, CO for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic Thursday night, marking the occasion with a solo piano concert. Guitarist DJ Williams (Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Shots Fired) played an opening set, and the two teamed up on a jam-heavy cover of Nirvana‘s “Heart-Shaped Box”.

The extended salute to grunge’s biggest band included shifting improvisations and a tease of “Pure Imagination” from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Though a departure from the original, the winding rendition was very much welcomed by the concert-hungry crowd.
