In pretty shocking news, lead singer Tim Lambesis of the Grammy-nominated Christian metalcore band As I Lay Dying, has been arrested in a murder-for-hire plot to kill his estranged wife.  According to reports, Lambesis has been charged on three federal counts, one count of solicitation to commit murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit crime.

The LA Times reported that Lambesis “was arrested without incident while shopping. He is accused of attempting to find someone to kill his estranged wife, who lives in Encinitas.” Authorities told L.A. Now that he had “attempted to hire an undercover sheriff’s detective for the murder.”  His estranged wife, Meggan Lambesis, had filed for divorce in the San Diego Superior Court last September.

There has been no report as to why Lambesis wanted his wife murdered, and San Diego County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Jan Caldwell was unable to give much more in the area of details, as the investigation is still ongoing and prevents her from giving any more information.
