Today, Friday, April 20, Swedish DJ Avicii–known for his mega hits “LE7ELS” and “Wake Me Up–passed away at the age of 28. As Billboard confirms, the young producer was found dead in Muscat, Oman, according to his publicist. The cause of Avicii’s death has not yet been stated.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” Avicii’s publicist Diana Baron said in a statement. “He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

Weaving in and out of the spotlight since breaking out in 2013, Avicii–more humanly known as Tim Bergling–will live on through his undeniable influence on electronic dance music worldwide. Rest In Peace!
