Coming off a stellar year, in which he has headlined both the Ultra and Lollapalooza Music Festivals, Swedish superstar DJ Avicii will be making yet another remarkable appearance, in becoming the first EDM star to headline NYC’s Radio City Music Hall on September 27th. This is yet more evidence of how electronic dance music has exploded into the stratosphere over the last year or two.
Another piece of evidence to lend credence to EDM’s world-takeover could be seen last month, where Kaskade played to a sold-out Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Yet, hosting this iconic venue seems just a bit more impressive, given the history and the names that have played at Radio City over the years. This is a beautifully constructed and decorated venue, and the thought of thousands of neon-clad, new millennium ravers running around like sweaty rag dolls waiting to hear “Levels” is just a bit nerve-wracking. Here is hoping for the best!
