Asheville, NC will become a sprawling ecosystem of interconnected concerts when AVLFest makes its debut August 3rd–6th, 2023. The inaugural festival from local brands Wicked Weed Brewing and Worthwhile Sounds will bring over 100 artists to 20-plus venues throughout the Western North Carolina music hub.

The initial lineup for AVLFest focuses heavily on Asheville’s rich musical community, drawing top acts River Whyless, Toubab Krewe, a 25-year reunion of The Blue RagsEmpire Strikes BrassThe Fritz, and many more. From Thursday through Sunday, a consistent lineup of concurrent concerts will keep music in the air all throughout Asheville. Local hotspots like Salvage Station, The Orange Peel, The Grey Eagle, and Asheville Music Hall will all host concerts under the AVLFest banner.

“Asheville has long been recognized for our thriving live music scene,” AVLFest co-founder Jeff Whitworth said. “In addition to the unrivaled level of talented performers that call Asheville home, that recognition also stems from the city’s eclectic and outstanding variety of music venues. While continuing to bring world class talent to Asheville, AVLFest will also showcase our city’s formidable venue collective, giving patrons the opportunity to explore our vibrant music scene without breaking the bank.”

In a model akin to Austin’s SXSW, fans will purchase wristbands that grant access to concerts at over 20 venues throughout town. Those with tickets to the multi-venue AVLFest will also receive first access to pre-sales for separately ticketed concerts from headliners to be announced at a later date. Wristbands will also unlock discounts at local retailers and restaurants throughout town.

In accordance with AVLFest’s commitment to the community, the festival will partner with several Asheville nonprofits including RiverLink, Black Wall Street, Homeward Bound, and Campaign for Southern Equality. The festival will raise both awareness and proceeds for these causes by donating a portion of ticket sales directly to the organizations.

Pre-sale tickets for the inaugural AVLFest are on sale here, with prices increasing on March 8th. Stay tuned for additional lineup announcements and stand-alone headlining concerts. See below for the initial lineup and a list of participating venues.
