With one of the most diverse lineups around, the Beale Street Music Festival has announced the following headliners: Kid Rock, Alabama Shakes, Foster the People, Avenged Sevenfold, and Pretty Lights.

Sometimes poppy, sometimes emo, sometimes electronica… and the farther one goes down the list, the more wild this Memphis-based festival becomes. Motorhead and String Cheese Incident are playing on the same day. Big Gigantic appears next to Dickey Betts. Blues Traveler next to Bone Thugs N Harmony

And, only towards the bottom of the lineup do we see the local-blues musicians that give Memphis its distinguishing character.

But I’m not complaining, it’s nice to see diversity in a festival lineup. Don’t want to see the same type of music over and over again, right? The Beale Street Music Festival is held from May 2-4, in Memphis, TN. Here’s the full lineup:
