Adam Horovitz, aka Ad-Rock, spoke to the New York Times about his starring role in the upcoming Noah Baumbach film, While We’re Young. The former Beastie Boy is now in his late 40s and well past fighting for his right to party, but was open to speaking about his past. Most notably, he auditioned for the Oliver Stone biopic about The Doors while high in the early 90s.
“I went in for the Doors movie, with Oliver Stone. I was definitely stoned, and as I walked in I looked at him and I was like, ‘You’re not going to cast me in this movie, right?’ He’s like, ‘No, I don’t think so.’ ”

And as for his partying habits nowadays?
“I’m certainly not going to take ecstasy and hit the club and listen to whatever, like, electronic dance music hit. I got no business going to a club. I’m a terrible dancer. I got a bad back.”
