The fans have asked, and thus, received. The Beastie Boys will stream their final concert ever from Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival 2009 all weekend long via YouTube.
Originally streaming as part of Bonnaroo’s Virtual ROO-ALITY event, The Beastie Boys’ final performance on June 12th, 2009 received so much praise that the band and festival decided to let the performance stream all weekend.
“We’ve heard from so many fans around the world that were unable to tune in last night, so our friends at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival are letting the set live online through the weekend,” the band said in a Facebook post on Friday.
The 24-song set came less than two months before bassist and vocalist Adam “MCA” Yauch received a cancer diagnosis that would later lead to his passing on May 4th, 2012. Throughout the set, the Beastie Boys ran through a bevy of hits like “No Sleep Till Brooklyn”, “Intergalactic”, and “Sabotage”, as well as some deeper cuts like “Tough Guys”, “Egg Raid on Mojo”, and “Something’s Got to Give”. Furthermore, about halfway through the set, rap icon Nas joined the group for an electrifying rendition of “Too Many Rappers”.
