Beck joins Dave Grohl and his musical partner/producer and keyboardist Greg Kurstin for an upbeat performance of his hit song “E-Pro” in the fifth installment of Grohl’s Hanukkah Sessions.

Recorded live at Largo in Los Angeles during an intimate benefit concert supporting the Anti-Defamation League, Beck’s collaboration with Grohl and Kurstin—which also features Kurstin’s The Bird and the Bee partner Inara George and a couple young teens on backing vocals—follows previously shared performances of songs by 10cc, P!nk, Blood, Sweat & Tears, and Janis Ian assisted by Inara George, P!nk and Tenacious D, Judd Apatow, and Grohl’s daughter Violet, respectively. With one song released for each night of Hanukkah, three still remain and will reportedly feature Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ Karen O.

This is the first live edition of the Hanukkah Sessions, a tradition Grohl and Kurstin started in 2020 with the aim of covering a song by a Jewish artist for each night of the holiday. This year’s Hanukkah Sessions features special guest collaborators who are also all Jewish, including Beck, who said he considers himself Jewish because his maternal Grandmother was Jewish and he was raised celebrating Jewish holidays. “It’s a little known fact that our favorite Grammy-winning Guero actually has Jewish roots,” the video description reads. “From Adonai to Odelay, it’s Beck with ‘E-Pro!'”

“E-Pro” was the lead single and opening track from Beck’s 2005 album Guero. The song hit number one on the Modern Rock chart and was featured in the game Rock Band 2 along with the Beastie Boys‘ “So What’cha Want”, which is sampled in the track.
