2016 has been a tough year for fans of Bernie Worrell, as his wife Judie notified fans that the legendary Talking Heads/Parliament Funkadelic keyboardist had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. Since then, Worrell’s fight with cancer has been an uphill battle, and yesterday, Judie Worrell told fans in the area to visit and say their last goodbyes.
While the statement clearly read that Worrell was alive, many fans spread the word of his passing anyway. Today, Judie has some more uplifting news to share about Worrell’s health condition, saying that the funk legend has been able to sit up at the edge of the bed for the first time in days. She also urged fans “NOT to speculate,” for fear of worrying family and loved ones.
