Beloved P-Funk/Talking Heads keyboardist Bernie Worrell has been in the prayers of his supporters of late, after his family revealed to fans that he was battling stage four lung cancer. Shortly after that announcement, an incredible cast of musicians banded together for All The Woo In The World, a benefit concert to raise money for Worrell’s treatments. With performances from David Byrne, Bootsy Collins, Living Colour, Jerry Harrison and more, the mood of the benefit was certainly one of hope.

Despite making a large donation to Worrell’s ongoing fundraiser (donate here), it seems the funk legend is not doing well. According to the most recent update, Worrell has a tumor that has paralyzed his vocal cord, making it incredibly difficult for him to even speak. While Guitar Center has donated a microphone and amplifier for Worrell to project his voice without straining, the keyboardist will be actively treating the tumor this week in hopes of shrinking it.
