Bill Kreutzmann will once again be out of commission for the final night of the ongoing Dead & Company Halloween run at Hollywood Bowl, the band announced on Sunday. Jay Lane will fill in for the tour-closing show.

The drummer, who is recovering from a “non COVID-related illness,” was previously sidelined for four shows in Colorado for similar reasons. Lane also filled in for that run, which included two shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and two shows at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre.

Bill Kreutzmann later returned to the Dead & Company lineup for one-off shows in Arizona and Southern California and performed with the band for its first two nights at Hollywood Bowl, although he made an early exit and tagged Lane in during Saturday night’s show.

Wishing all the best and a very quick recovery to Billy K!
