For generations, deadheads have honored the tradition of giving away free tickets, or “miracles,” to ticketless fans as an expression of kindness and community, but never has a member of the band publicly offered to miracle a fan themselves—until now. Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann announced via a post on social media that he will personally purchase a pair of tickets to Dead & Company‘s show at Shoreline Amphitheatre on Tuesday, June 14th for one lucky person.
“[The] spirit of the Grateful Dead also lives in our hearts. And in the music, which lives on and which I continue to play every night I can,” Bill Kreutzmann shared. “It is in that same spirit of the Grateful Dead that I’ve got someone’s miracle for Shoreline tomorrow night (Tuesday). I’ll personally purchase a pair for someone reading this. This is not a contest. I just feel in my heart that in this time of deep division and in these pandemic days where we might find ourselves six feet further and further apart, we must never forget that we are all in this together. And nothing brings people together quite like the Grateful Dead. It’s been with me my whole life.”

Need a miracle?
Friends, I was so thankful to be able to return to the road this week but also to come back to where it all began – Palo Alto. My hometown. The Grateful Dead formed just miles from here and the spirit of the Grateful Dead still lives here…
