A bass guitar, amplifier, and other gear used by Bill Wyman (longtime bassist of The Rolling Stones) have sold for record prices at an auction held at Julien’s Auctions in New York City over the weekend, Rolling Stone reports.

Wyman’s 1969 Fender Mustang broke the record set by Paul McCartney‘s Hofner bass by selling for an impressive $384,000 (Sir Paul’s sold at auction in 2013 for $204,800). Wyman had used the orange-colored bass on The Rolling Stones’ recordings between 1969 and 1970. Wyman’s 1962 Vox AC30 Normal model amplifier also set a new record by selling for $106,250. Wyman’s Sixties Framus Star bass also sold for $51,200, while the outfit he wore during the band’s famous Hyde Park performance on July 5th, 1969 sold for $11,520.

Interestingly enough, Julien’s also arranged the sale of a plush yellow toilet seat cover with The Rolling Stones’ famous tongue logo for $1,142, making it the most expensive toilet seat cover in the world.

While the $384,000 is an enormous chunk of money for an old instrument, it didn’t come close to the mind-blowing $6,010,000 which Kurt Cobain‘s 1959 Martin D-18E acoustic guitar sold for earlier this year. Other notable and record-breaking used guitar sales via auction in recent years include David Gilmour‘s black Fender StratocasterJerry Garcia‘s “Wolf” guitar, and Duane Allman‘s 1957 Gibson Les Paul.
