This new video is the latest preview from Haynes’ upcoming release documenting the 2014 rendition of his annual Christmas Jam, a charity event that has raised over 2.7 million dollars for the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, making the event the largest contributor to the organization to date. The forthcoming film and live album recorded on that evening feature performances by Warren Haynes, Gov’t Mule with Jackie Greene, Billy & The Kids (Bill Kreutzmann, Tom Hamilton, Reed Mathis, and Aaron Magner), Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Hard Working Americans (Todd Snider, Neal Casal, Dave Schools, Duane Trucks, Chad Staehly), Paul Riddle & Friends, and more.

Christmas Jam 2014 featured the first-ever official performance by Billy & The Kids, during which the core lineup of Bill Kreutzmann (Grateful Dead), Tom Hamilton (JRAD, Ghost Light), Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green), and Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits) was joined by Col. Bruce Hampton, Michael Girardot and Rob Ingraham of The Revivalists, and more. Billy & The Kids went on to play only a handful of gigs throughout 2015 and 2016, before falling silent following the band’s performance at Wanee Music Festival in 2016.

However, earlier this month, a post on Billy & The Kids’ long-dormant Facebook page led many fans to believe that a concert announcement was imminent. These suspicions were later confirmed with the initial lineup announcement for the 2020 edition of Skull & Roses Festival in Ventura, California which will feature a headlining performance by Billy & The Kids in addition to sets from Oteil & FriendsVoodoo DeadMelvin Seals & JBGJackie Greene, and more.

The film and album versions of Warren Haynes Presents: The Benefit Concert Volume 16 are available for pre-order in a variety of formats here.
