Billy Strings has shared the new animated video for “Home”, the title track from the guitarist’s 2019 studio album which arrived last September.

Directed by Kevin Thomma, the stunning visual accompaniment to Strings’ 7:36 minute single delivers a very impressive mixture of animation styles while offering fans a new take on the dramatic folk-rock tune.

From start to finish, the animated video keeps viewers on their toes thanks to the various ways it portrays the story which Strings’ music attempts to tell. The main setting for the video is that of a simple cabin in a snowy woodland setting, which looks to have been designed by Thomma’s production team out of cardboard. The video isn’t entirely animated, however, as short glimpses of old home video footage and old-time photographs are also woven into the mix.

As the song continues to build, the animation gets a bit more intense as a psychedelic-like trance and dizzying camera angles really start to take viewers for a ride leading up to the satisfying end.
