Billy Strings has announced a very special four-date run of shows with his father, guitarist Terry Barber, billed as Family Strings. The shows will take place throughout Billy’s home state of Michigan in late February and early March.

According to a press release announcing the Family Strings run, “Barber was hugely instrumental in forming Billy’s passion for traditional bluegrass. Whether sitting and picking around a campfire, listening to vinyl records together, or teaching young Billy a lick or two, Barber sparked a massive passion, and what would eventually become a way of life, for Billy Strings.”

The newly announced Billy Strings Family Strings mini-tour includes stops at Bay City, MI’s State Theatre (2/27); Traverse City, MI’s City Opera House (2/28); Ionia, MI’s Ionia Theatre (2/29); and Ann Arbor, MI’s The Ark.

Tickets for the Family Strings tour go on sale on Thursday, January 23rd via Billy’s website. While these shows are sure to sell out quickly, fear not: The run is billed as “Volume One,” indicating that there will be more Family Strings shows announced in the future.
