Billy Strings has announced the addition of socially distant June shows in the Midwest billed as the Summer Solstice Tour.

On June 11th and 12th, Billy and company will head to Schaumburg, IL’s Wintrust Field. From there, the quartet will continue on to Oshkosh, WI for a pair of shows at Ford Park Live on June 18th and 19th. The following week, the band will head to Thornville, OH’s Legend Valley for a two-night run on June 25th and 26th.

Tickets for the newly announced Billy Strings shows in the Midwest go on sale this Friday, May 7th. For ticketing details and more information, head here.

Billy Strings has been adeptly navigating the “new normal” touring situation throughout the pandemic. Throughout the early part of this year, the bluegrass phenom has performed a mix of socially distant in-person gigs and livestreamed performances at notable venues around the country. Notable spring stops by the recent Grammy winner and his eponymous quartet included St Augustine, FL; New Orleans, LAAustin, TX; Columbia, SC; and Mobile, AL.

As tours and festivals begin to ramp back up to full capacity later this summer, so too will Billy Strings. Last week, he announced 50+ national tour dates set to keep him and the band on the road from late July through the end of the year. Reflecting the projections of the music industry at large, the late-2021 tour was announced without specific capacity/distancing measures in place.

With the announcement of these new socially distant shows in the meantime, it seems clear that Billy Strings intends to keep on truckin’ in whatever format is feasible right on through the end of the pandemic tunnel. For a full list of upcoming Billy Strings 2021 tour dates, head here.

Billy will also join a fellow Billy—drummer Bill Kreutzmann of the Grateful Dead—in Hawaii on May 7th, 8th, and 9th for Grateful Mahalo, a three-night run of livestreams featuring Strings and Billy & The Kids in honor of Kreutzmann’s 75th birthday.
