Roadrunner is the latest venue venture from The Bowery Presents, the AEG Live regional partner that operates venues in New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New Orleans, Virginia, and Maine. Since revealing its existence last May, Roadrunner has steadily built up a loaded schedule of artists for its first year in operation.
In addition to Billy Strings, the Roadrunner’s first month will see concerts from Khruangbin (3/17), 3/18), Dropkick Murphys (3/20), Mitski (3/21, 3/22), Bleachers (3/24, 3/25), Black Tiger Sex Machine (3/31), and more. The venue also just announced a four-night LCD Soundsystem residency (4/3–6).
Many of the artists including Khruangbin, Trey Anastasio Band (5/7, 5/8), and Lake Street Dive (6/11, 6/12) have opted to perform two nights at Roadrunner rather than one night at the nearby outdoor Leader Bank Pavillion, which can host up to 5,000. With room for 1,500 more people than the House of Blues Boston, Roadrunner will become “New England’s largest general admission indoor music venue,” according to Bowery.
