While the Billy Strings winter tour has been over for a few weeks, the guitarist has remained characteristically busy during his “downtime.” In addition to jumping in with Greensky Bluegrass at Ryman Auditorium for two consecutive nights, Billy recently got back to his heavier roots with a guest appearance with Michigan metalcore band Flesh and Blood Robot in Grand Rapids during the group’s first show in 18 years.

As Billy explained of the head-banging session, “Last night was a complete celebration. It was so great to re-unite with some of my best friends I haven’t seen in years!! … I have loved this band since I was like 12 and to see them play after 18 years was just incredible, especially from where I was standing. They never skipped a beat. These fellas were my first ‘big brothers’ in a band who I really looked up to.. and who I saw and thought ‘I could do that someday’ ….. my neck hurts. But it was soo worth it.”

Next up on the official Billy Strings 2024 tour schedule is a pair of spring tour-opening performances at Yuengling Center in Tampa, FL on April 12th and 13th. For a full list of upcoming dates, head here.
