Billy Strings has announced a special livestream of an upcoming performance at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. The performance at the “Mother Church of Country Music” will take place on Sunday, October 25th, and will feature a single, two-hour set from the guitarist. Much like the bluegrass phenom’s recent livestream from Red Rocks in Colorado, no live audience will be present despite the fact that the venue recently began allowing limited-capacity crowds.

Billy began to stoke fans’ excitement for the announcement with a cryptic video posted to his social media on Tuesday noted that “A special invitation is coming” and he’d be “Doin’ things a little different” this time around.

Billy Strings’ Ryman Auditorium webcast tickets will go on sale this Friday, October 16th, for $24.99 following a Spotify presale today (Wednesday, October 14th) at 1 p.m. ET for $19.99. Strings’ Spotify subscribers will receive a presale code at 1 p.m. ET that gets discounted early bird tickets and guaranteed inventory for a poster add-on option. In recent months, Billy and company have been active in exploring the pandemic-safe performance options available to artists during this strangest time. In addition to mounting the Streaming Strings tour of various empty venues in Nashville and taking part in virtual gigs like slots on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and the Grand Ole Opry‘s streaming series—during which he debuted a new song about the Grand Ole Opry—the band recently headed out on a run of socially-distanced drive-in shows. Late last month, they celebrated the one-year anniversary of 2019 album HOME with a three-set live stream from a vacant Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Earlier this month, Billy Strings and his eponymous band performed a powerful take on HOME track “Taking Water” for Democracy Comes Alive, a one-day, nonpartisan virtual music festival aimed at channeling the power of music to make a critical impact on civic engagement in this November’s elections and beyond.
