The festival’s lineup will include Maxwell, yasiin bey & Talib Kweli reuniting as Black Star, Thundercat, Maurice “Mobetta” Brown featuring Anderson.Paak, Flying Lotus, The Soul Rebels featuring GZA & Talib Kweli, Corinne Bailey Rae, Domi & JD Beck, Chief Adjuah (formerly Christian Scott), Derrick Hodge, Th1rt3en (Pharoahe Monch, Daru Jones & Marcus Machado), Butcher Brown, Isaiah Sharkey, and more. Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa Valley will take place after both New York’s Blue Note Jazz Festival, which will hold its 11th iteration this year with performances at different venues throughout the month of June, and the festival’s Miami Beach Pop-Up, also in June. Unlike the decentralized festival in New York, the Napa Valley version will take place in one location on three stages over two days, creating an environment ripe for collaborations between artists.

The festival draws inspiration from artist-in-residence Robert Glasper’s residencies at Blue Note Jazz Club in New York.

“The idea for the Blue Note Jazz Festival Napa Valley came out of Robert Glasper’s month long residency at the Blue Note New York, held each October and dubbed Robtober,” says Blue Note Entertainment Group President Steven Bensusan. “Glasper curates a month of shows and collaborations spanning across the genres of jazz, R&B, hip hop, soul, and comedy resulting in impromptu performances by celebrities and unannounced special guests. It is our plan to create an outdoor festival style version of Robtober in the spirit of a traditional jazz festival featuring spontaneous collaborations and once in a lifetime improvised performances.”

On tap to sit in during Glasper’s set, which will be hosted by Dave Chappelle, are Erykah Badu, Ledisi, D Smoke, Terrace Martin, and BJ the Chicago Kid. Many more sit-ins and musical cross-pollination are to be expected.

The festival will offer food by local restaurants, wine tasting experiences, and other VIP add-ons.

Two-day passes, priced at $385 for General Admission and $850 for VIP go on sale Tuesday, April 26th at noon PT. View the complete lineup below, and for more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
