The Avett BrothersSam Bush Band, and Mike Gordon top the lineup for the 2023 edition of Blue Ox Music Festival. The ninth annual celebration of roots, Americana, and bluegrass music will return to its home at The Pines Music Park in Eau Claire, WI June 22nd–24th.

The wide-reaching initial lineup also hosts climbing Texas Gulf Coast singer-songwriter Charley Crockett, jamgrass luminaries The Infamous Stringdusters and the rising Kitchen Dwellers, mandolin firebrand Sierra Hull, country blues singer Charlie Parr, Nashville genre-blender Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, guitar virtuoso Yasmin Williams, and many more. The 2023 lineup is rounded out by Horseshoes & Hand GrenadesThe Lowest PairJoshua Ray WalkerThem Coulee BoysKyle TuttleRainbow GirlsHenhouse Prowlers, and a host of others. Pert Near Sandstone will host the festival and perform for two nights.

Next summer will mark The Avett Brothers’ first visit to Blue Ox, while progressive bluegrass torchbearer Sam Bush keeps his perfect attendance streak alive, having appeared every year since the festival began in 2015. Artists will perform amidst the bucolic splendor of The Pines Music Park, featuring 155 acres of tall trees and rolling hills.

Tickets for Blue Ox Music Festival 2023 are on sale now. Attendance will be limited to 5,000 tickets “to preserve the intimacy and magic that the festival was built upon,” according to organizers. See below for the initial lineup.

Ahead of next year’s gathering, Nate Sipe (Pert Near Sandstone) and Blue Ox MC Justin Bruhn will produce and host the Road to Blue Ox Podcast featuring interviews with artists set to appear in 2023. Stay tuned for new episodes in the run-up to the festival.
