Bob Dylan has announced the forthcoming summer release of his next studio album, Rough And Rowdy Ways, due out June 19th via Columbia Records.

Dylan has already shared a pair of new original recordings earlier this year which will appear on his first studio effort since 2012, the 17-minute “Murder Most Foul” and the more recent “I Contain Multitudes”. The 78-year-old folk-rock singer-songwriter shared another new single to go with Friday’s announcement, entitled, “False Prophet”. The song, which runs at a manageable six-minutes in length, marches forward with cowboy-like swagger from Dylan while the subtle fuzz of blues guitars give the recording some dark authenticity.

The new Bob Dylan album, Rough and Rowdy Ways, is available for pre-order here, and is set to arrive on both double CD or double LP formats.

Dylan is scheduled to team up with Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats for a run of summer performances beginning on June 4th Bend, OR. In all likelihood, however, the summer tour will be postponed as more festivals and concerts continue to get canceled or pushed back to the fall thanks to the ongoing industry shutdown from COVID-19. Stay tuned to Dylan’s website for concert updates in the coming weeks.
