The family of Bob Marley has announced a new documentary series about the late reggae icon entitled Bob Marley — LEGACY: 75 Years A Legend. They also released a new Marley EP, Iron Lion Zion.

In the first of 12 episodes of LEGACY, released today, we see Marley’s friends and family discuss what the musician meant to each of them. Combined with archival interview footage of Bob himself, Marley’s family—including Ziggy, Stephen, Julian, and more—attempt to explain the man that Bob was offstage and how that influenced his attitude onstage and in the studio.

Along with other musicians such as Buju Banton and Lloyd “Bread” McDonald, the first episode of LEGACY also provides a snapshot of Jamaican life, and a caricature of the environment that shaped Bob’s identity. The next 11 episodes of Bob Marley — LEGACY, will premiere on YouTube in the coming months.
