Last night, Bob Weir, Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads), and Dumpstaphunk joined forces to co-bill the Get Down To Earth benefit for the Green Schools Alliance at San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall. The evening included a cocktail hour, auction, and awards presentation with Weir and Bill McGlashan, the founder and managing partner of TPG Growth and co-founder and CEO of The Rise Fund, being honored.

Green Schools Alliance is an environmental group on a mission to empower schools worldwide to lead the transformation to a sustainable future. Their website notes that, “Green Schools Alliance envisions a world where every person is aware of and accountable for the impact they have in creating an environmentally, economically, and equitably sustainable future.”

A special and standout moment of the evening was when Bob Weir and Dumpstaphunk collaborated on a cover of The Meters’ “Fire On The Bayou”. Weir and New Orleans funk-act Dumpstaphunk are no strangers to one another. For the past two years, Weir has joined Dumpstaphunk for a “night of mischief music” alongside the Jazz Mafia Horns at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA.
