Bob Weir and Wolf Bros wrapped their weekend run of shows in “The Sunshine State” on Sunday with a concert at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, FL as part of their ongoing winter tour. For the Grateful Dead-inspired trio’s two-set performance, Weir and the Wolf Bros treated fans in attendance to a sit-in from by friend and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band multi-instrumentalist, John McEuen.

The trio opened Sunday’s show with “Samson and Delilah” followed by more staples from the Dead’s live catalog in “Loose Lucy”, “Tennessee Jed”, and “Black-Throated Wind” from Weir’s 1972 Ace solo album. From there, the band delivered a cover of Bob Dylan‘s “Queen Jane Approximately” before welcoming McEuen to the stage to help play through renditions of “Friend of the Devil” and “Orange Blossom Special” to close the set.

The band returned to the stage to open the second half of the show with “Ashes and Glass” which moved right into a cover of Roy Hamilton‘s “Don’t Let Go”. McEuen made his way back to the stage to play on “Dark Star” as the music flowed right into the Dead’s cosmic anthem and into “Corrina”. McEuen then parted as the band continued into “Standing on the Moon”, but returned shortly thereafter to help close the second set with a lively take on the blues tune “Going Down the Road Feelin’ Bad”. The trio returned sans McEuen to close the show with a lone encore performance of “Ripple”.
