Last night, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros made a stop at Seattle, WA’s Moore Theatre following a Tuesday night show at Portland, OR’s Keller Auditorium which featured Bob Weir, Jay Lane, and Don Was dusting off “Eternity” for the first time since 2002. In Seattle, the trio worked through Grateful Dead favorites, select tunes off Bob Weir’s Blue Mountain solo endeavor, and also welcomed a special guest on bagpipes.

Bob Weir and Wolf Bros opened the first set with “Scarlet Begonias”, taking no time to settle into some delicate improvisational territory. Next, Bob Weir invited bagpiper Jori Chisholm to lend a helping hand on “Lay My Lily Down”, off of Weir’s 2016 Blue Mountain release. Weir and Chisholm share some history, as Chisholm sat in with Weir’s RatDog at a 2007 Seattle show.

Regrouping back into their trio, Wolf Bros worked through a cover of Kris Kristofferson’s “Me And Bobby McGee” before moving onto “Little Red Rooster” and the first take on Bobby & The Midnites “Josephine” since 2015. A cover of Bob Dylan’s “When I Paint My Masterpiece” followed, before the three-piece brought the first set to a close with a hearty “Lost Sailor” into “Saint Of Circumstance”, with Weir shining brightly on his signature sunburst Fender Stratocaster.

Following a brief set break, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros opened the second set with “Gonesville”, the second tune of the evening off of Blue Mountain. Next, Bobby led his bandmates through “Jack Straw” before continuing to crank up the heat, offering a ripping rendition of “Bertha”. “Bird Song” and “Corrina” led way to Chisholm joining the band for the second time of the evening, bringing his bagpipes into the mix for a unique and delicate take on “Wharf Rat”. Following Weir’s politically-driven “Throwing Stones”, he brought the second set to a close with a wholesome segue of “China Cat Sunflower” into “I Know You Rider” before “Brokedown Palace” served as the evening’s encore.
