The trio—comprised of Weir, bassist Don Was, and drummer Jay Lane—kicked off their first set with “Friend Of The Devil” before moving into “Only A River”, a tune off of Weir’s 2016 Blue Mountain studio release. Wolf Bros continued on with Bob Dylan‘s “When I Paint My Masterpiece” before offering up “Bombs Away”, a song Weir wrote with the late John Perry Barlow which appeared on Bob’s 1978 Heaven Help The Fool album. Following “Bombs Away”, Weir and his musical comrades worked through “Cassidy” and “Tennessee Jed” before sandwiching “Easy Answers” in between an exploratory “The Music Never Stopped” to close out their first frame.

Following a brief setbreak, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros returned to open their second set with a pairing of “Eyes Of The World” into “He’s Gone”, a song Weir released on his 2000 Evening Moods studio album. The set continued on with a paring of “Bird Song” into “New Speedway Boogie”, “Standing On The Moon”, and a set-closing segue of “Franklin’s Tower” into “Sugar Magnolia”. The trio delivered a lone encore of “Ripple”.

Tonight, Friday, August 2nd, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros return to Mill Valley, CA’s Sweetwater Music Hall for their second of three performances. For a full list of Bob Weir’s upcoming tour dates, ticketing, and more information, head to his website.
