Bob Weir & Wolf Bros continued their three-night weekend run at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA on Friday with a 16-song performance filled with covers ranging from Bob Dylan to Johnny Cash.

Following the night one performance which also celebrated what would have been Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia‘s 77th birthday on Thursday, the band launched fans at their Friday show into the opening set of the night with “Jack Straw”. The familiar Dead tune which opened up plenty of shows throughout the band’s 30-year career was then followed by the first cover of the night in Johnny Cash‘s “Big River”. Next came another cover with the trio’s rendition of Bob Dylan‘s “She Belongs To Me”, followed by “Gonesville” off of Bob Weir‘s 2016 Blue Mountain solo LP. The set continued with “Peggy-O”, and “West L.A. Fadeaway”, before closing out with Weir’s fan-favorite two-song combo of “Lost Sailor” into “Saint of Circumstance” to send fans into intermission.

The band returned to the stage with introductory help from long-time Dead roadie Steve Parish to begin the second half of the show with another cover, this time being that of Kris Kristofferson‘s “Me and Bobby McGee”. The set powered forward with a four-song segue beginning with “Truckin'” and playing right into “Estimated Prophet” and “Eternity” before closing with “The Other One”. The set came to a close with the band’s traditional cover of The Crickets’ “Not Fade Away”, followed by a one-song encore with the trio revisiting the Bob Dylan songbook for “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall”.
