Bootsy Collins is opening up his inbox to fan submissions for his new compilation, Funk Not Fight. The crowdsourced compendium will hear the funkmaster record fan-submitted songs alongside special guests LettuceBucketheadSteve Lacy, and more.

Announced on the former James Brown and Parliament-Funkadelic bassist’s 71st birthdayFunk Not Fight is powered by Syncr. Fans can click here to submit their song for the opportunity to be featured on the compilation album, as well as get the chance to record an original composition with Bootsy and his guests. Bootzilla is looking for “inspirational creatives” including rappers, poets, singers, instrumentalists, and others.

Also set to appear on Funk Not Fight are Zapp, Triggy, Syleena Johnson, Tommy Davidson, Hi-Tek, Deanna Brown, G7, Michael Dyson, and more. Along with Wednesday’s announcement, Bootsy shared a preview of the lead single and title track.

Collins arrived at the concept for Funk Not Fight in the wake of civil unrest in communities around the world and decided to send his “funk ambassadors” to spread love with the power of music. All proceeds from the album will go toward “initiatives that are in need of financial support, that are dedicated to helping turn the tide of violence and unrest in our communities.” Stay tuned for further details on the compilation including a tracklist and release date.
