Three-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile is headed back to the beach in January for her second annual destination event! Next year’s Brandi Carlile’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend is set for January 29th through February 2nd, 2020 at Rivera Maya, MX’s Hard Rock Hotel.
On Monday, the five-day destination event announced its 2020 lineup, highlighted by three Brandi Carlile shows. Brandi Carlile’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend will also see performances by Sheryl Crow, Lake Street Dive, Patty Griffin, Lucius, Wanda Sykes (Comedy Set), KT Tunstall, Jade Bird, Amanda Shires, and Yola.
Prior to the inaugural event in 2019, Brandi explained,
Mainstream festivals in the U.S. habitually exclude women as headline artists equal to men. I was brought up by Lilith Fair to believe that men and women enjoy live music equally and that women can not only headline a festival—they can BE a festival. I’m proud to announce that our festival has an ALL female-fronted lineup. I would absolutely LOVE to see a ton of men there supporting women in rock and roll, I want to see mothers with children, single people, LGBTQ brothers and sisters letting it all go for a weekend together in harmony (with bottomless tequila on hand to assist).
A limited number of rooms will be available for past participants with unused presale passwords beginning on Friday, May 10th at 11:50 a.m. (EST). Remaining rooms will go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 10th at 12 p.m. (EST).
Carlile recently extended her 2019 tour plans with a new batch of concert dates now scheduled to keep the singer and guitarist on the road well into the summer months.
