Brandon “Taz” Niederauer is coming to Denver’s Bluebird Theater on Sunday, August 11th.

While he’s only 16 years old, Niederauer has already made his mark on the world of live music, having shared the stage with the likes of Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, Derek Trucks, Warren HaynesBuddy Guy, Oteil Burbridge, Stevie Nicks, Lady Gaga, Gary Clark Jr., Eric Krasno, and more. He’s also played a leading role in a Broadway show (School of Rock), and just released his own signature D’Angelico guitar model.

While he’s been blowing minds with his lightning-fast guitar chops for years, the teenage guitar phenom continues to improve and grow into himself as a bandleader and songwriter with each successive performance. Taz reflects:

“I am very honored and humbled that these amazing musicians have the confidence in my playing to include me on their stage. I understand the chance they are taking by possibly disrupting their set. I can’t express how much I have learned and how it has helped me with my playing. I am truly thankful. I would also like to mention and thank the city of New Orleans and the musicians that come from there. They are so generous and welcoming with their performances, and teach by example. Also a special shout out to the incredible Art Neville who we recently lost. I had the honor to play with him a few times and it was awesome. Last but not least, the first time I played a gig with Col. Bruce Hampton was in New Orleans and that started an amazing mentoring relationship. I do miss the Colonel.”

Now out on tour with his own band, Taz has been busy all summer with shows at festivals like Summer Camp Music Festival, Mountain Jam, Great South Bay Music Festival, The Peach Music Festival, and Roots Rock Revival. While he will play four shows during his August Colorado run, Taz’s August 11th date at the Bluebird Theater will mark his only Denver show of the season. Taz reflects on his upcoming show:

“This is my band’s first time playing in Colorado. I am excited to play my original music for the audience. While I enjoy sit-ins and playing with established musicians and will continue to do so, I want the music lovers at these shows to hear my music, to hear what I have been writing, and hopefully I can bring them joy. The Bluebird is an iconic spot and I know we will feel the historic vibe when we walk in the venue.”

The historically renowned theater hosts nearly 250 national and local acts each year, giving it a reputation as a community anchor in the Bluebird District of Denver. Now registered on the National Register of Historic Places, The Bluebird Theater was Denver’s first theater designed specifically for screening films. Today, it’s a mecca for artists in Denver’s highly-populated music scene.
