Bright Eyes were set to mount a comeback year in 2020 with the release of the band’s first new album in nine years and an associated tour. One of those goals was achieved for the Conor Oberst-led trio, but unfortunately not the other.
Now, nearly ten months after the release of Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was, Bright Eyes fans will finally get the tour they were owed.
Announced on Wednesday, Bright Eyes has added eight new tour dates to the band’s existing concert schedule with support from Lucy Dacus.
The new run of shows begins on July 27th in Lewiston, NY followed by New Haven, CT (7/28); followed by a trio of previously scheduled shows in Bethlehem, PA (7/29); Worcester, MA (7/30); and New York, NY (7/31). The new dates pick up once again in Charlottesville, VA (8/3); Raleigh, NC (8/4); Asheville, NC (8/5); two nights in Atlanta, GA (8/6, 8/7); and finally wraps in Birmingham, AL (8/8).
Of note, the New Haven show at Westville Music Bowl will see additional support from Japanese Breakfast, with Waxahatchee on board for the show at New York’s Forest Hills Tennis Stadium.
Tickets for all newly announced Bright Eyes tour dates go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m ET via the band’s website. Scroll down to see a full list of tour dates.
