Last April, Bruce Hornsby teamed up with yMusic for a collaborative performance at National Sawdust in New York City, where the pianist was promoting his then-new studio album, Absolute Zero. Hornsby’s concert at the NYC venue on April 30th included the performance of “Mandolin Rain” alongside yMusic, a song that originally appeared on Bruce Hornsby and the Range‘s 1986 studio debut, The Way It Is.

On Wednesday, ahead of Hornsby’s upcoming run of tour dates with support from yMusic, the pianist shared the pro-shot video highlighting their collaborative rendition of “Mandolin Rain” from the April 30th performance.

The seven-minute take of the old pop ballad glistens thanks to Hornsby’s soft touch on the piano keys matched with the beautiful tones coming out of the sextet chamber ensemble.
