The Monmouth County Historical Association is preparing to launch a new exhibit on New Jersey’s favorite rock n’ roll son, Bruce Springsteen.

Titled, “Springsteen: His Hometown,” the exhibit will open at the Association’s headquarters in Springsteen’s hometown of Freehold, NJ on September 29th and plans to remain open through fall 2020. The historical-themed exhibit will look to share how Monmouth County has been “thematically woven into Bruce Springsteen’s music and art” since the guitarist broke out of the club circuit in the early 1970s.

Fans will be able to check out over 150 unique items including a poster of Bruce’s former band, The Castiles, in addition to a scrapbook put together by the rock star’s mother, Adele Springsteen. The items have been provided by the Monmouth County Historical Association and The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University. Other unique, historical-based items to be displayed in the exhibit include American war documents mentioning Bruce’s ancestors Alexander Springsteen (Civil War) and John Springsteen (Revolutionary War).

The exhibit will also plan to open with a VIP kick-off party at the Monmouth County Historical Association Museum on September 28th. The “Dancing In The Dark Preview Party” will even feature television news anchor Brian Williams as the event’s Honorary Chair.

Springsteen released a new album just last month with Western Stars, his first collection of new, original songs since 2012’s Wrecking Ball.
