Butcher Brown offered another preview of the band’s forthcoming Encore EP on Friday with the second single, “For My Love”. Encore is out on June 4th via Concord Music Group.

While the Richmond, VA-bred quintet is approaching the release of its fifth studio album in seven years, the band continues to innovate and excite. Between the group’s time-tested jazz/R&B chops alongside equally balanced hip-hop leanings, each new track from Butcher Brown is its own adventure. In “For My Love”, the group takes a slow jam approach to a sensual instrumental rhythm.

Written by saxophonist MC Marcus “Tennishu” Tenney in dedication to his wife, he described the song as “Joe Henderson meets Jodeci.” The song’s simplistic repetitive nature makes it the kind of track that can just play on repeat as the band cycles through a three-chord progression.
