Bay Area soul purveyors The California Honeydrops celebrate good lovin’ with their new song “In Your Arms”, the latest single off the band’s forthcoming album Soft Spot.
Combining old school soul and new school cool, “In Your Arms” conjures an island vibe with a bouncy, Jamaican-inspired groove and ska-like horns. Singer Lech Wierzynkski, whose smile illuminates the stage during the band’s performances, conveys joy with his ever-soulful vocals, though the recording fails to really capture the charismatic frontman’s larger-than-life presence.
“Good lovin’ is something we all look forward to,” Wierzynkski said in a press release. “Sometimes it’s the only thing keeping us alive.”
“In Your Arms” joins previously released Soft Spot singles “Nothing At All”, “I Miss You Baby Pt. 1”, and “Takin’ My Time” as the fourth preview of Soft Spot, which is due for release on October 7th. The song is now available on all streaming plastforms. Listen via YouTube in the player below.
As a special treat for fans, the Honeydrops also shared a cover of Sam Cooke’s “Good Times”, available here.
