A concert that was initially scheduled as a tribute to David Bowie has taken on a life of its own.

Michael Dorf, owner of City Winery, is responsible for the annual “Music Of” tribute benefit concerts at Carnegie Hall. With previous years having paid tribute to legends like David Byrne, Paul Simon, The Who, and more, Dorf and his team decided that Bowie would be the perfect musician to honor with a musical tribute. Of course, that tribute quickly turned into a memorial upon learning that the Thin White Duke had passed away.

Now, as tickets to the Bowie memorial concert quickly sold out, the tribute has added a second date on April 1st. Slated to perform at the second day of Bowie tributes are Michael Stipe (R.E.M), Laurie Anderson, Cat Power, Perry Farrell, Ann Wilson (Heart), and The Polyphonic Spree.

Tickets and more information can be found on the “Music Of” website, and all proceeds are donated to several music education charities. RIP Bowie.
