On July 4th, The Field Museum in Chicago, IL will play host to a very special performance: Jazz & Colors: Wave That Flag. The show will celebrate the Grateful Dead’s extensive catalog, with local musicians coming out to perform jazz renditions of the band’s standards.

Jazz & Colors premiered as an outdoor music festival, held in Central Park. There, dozens of jazz artists gathered for one night of memorable music, but the outdoor festival quickly relocated into the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where it found its stride. Jazz music and revered art music go hand-in-hand, and this “Wave That Flag” performance is sure to capitalize on that atmosphere.

A ticket to the museum is required for entrance to the shows, which will be held at 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM, leading up to the “Fare Thee Well” performance at Soldier Field. More information can be found on the Jazz & Colors website. You can see the scheduled songs below:
