In a since-deleted string of tweets on Twitter, Chris Brown had (according to the Huffington Post) vowed to quit music due to his bad reputation (for beating Rihanna) after the release of his upcoming LP, X.

The tweets, which read “Don’t worry mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album” and “Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I’m cool & over it” were made early Tuesday morning. The singer had just turned himself in to authorities for a hit-and-run on Monday morning, spending a total of 45 minutes in jail. After his brief visit to jail, the singer was seen out at a nightclub speeding away in a orange Lamborghini.

Though they were deleted, they still managed to get published (though can no longer be found on his official page). X comes out on 08/20, so we’ll have to wait until then to see what comes of this supposed retirement.
