Last night, the Tedeschi Trucks Band wrapped up an awesome run at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA. After putting on a cover-heavy powerhouse performance on night one, the soulful outfit took things to the next level with a tremendous two-set performance with a major surprise.
After bringing some great tunes including covers of Blind Faith, Derek & The Dominos, Santana, John Prine and more – not to mention the band’s esteemed catalog of original music – it was time for a final encore to close out the two night stand. That’s when Tedeschi Trucks brought the magic by calling upon the beloved Chris Robinson to join them on lead vocals.
Robinson emerged for the two-song encore, lending a hand on Bob Dylan’s “You Ain’t Goin Nowhere” and Joe Cocker’s “Space Captain.” While we wait for full footage to emerge, you can check out the collaboration via the Instagram clips – as well as the full setlist – below:
