Circles Around The Sun has released a new album, LIVE Winter 2020, compiling song selections from the band’s February and March tour of the East Coast.

The tour saw CATS joined by guitarist Scott Metzger, best known for his work with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead. Metzger was the second guitarist to fill in for the late Neal Casal—following a brief stint by Eric Krasno—after his untimely death last summer. The winter tour saw the quartet play shows up and down the East Coast, hitting venues like the Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY; The Ardmore in Ardmore, PA; The Sinclair in Boston, MA; and Zoetropolis in Lancaster, PA. LIVE Winter 2020 compiled 12 choice cuts from the tour, including “Pete Jive”, “Gilberts Groove”, “Hallucinate”, and “Money’s No Option”.

In support of the release, CATS has also shared a video for the lead track, “On My Mind”. The live video comes from the band’s performance at the 8×10 in Baltimore, MD on February 27th and features visuals by Mad Alchemy Liquid Lights. The 18-minute excursion through time and space highlights the group’s ability to explore. “On My Mind” sees CATS weave their way through lengthy improv sections with ease. Metzger links together licks, riffs, and phrases throughout the song, building to some of the highest peaks and deep, groovy valleys.
